The system is definitely independent, not as a live axis or a back part of a beam of a turbulence. With dependent systems when one wheel moves, another, it is compelled to move also. Design of a suspension of the Corvette such is, what even thus that both parties are connected, one party can move, without mentioning another, therefore its classification as independent. But how - that concerning that spring of a leaf? Certainly, if its enclosed to both parties which does it by dependent system of a suspension bracket? On older Corvettes of C2, C3, a back part of C4 the spring of a leaf was firmly clamped to a substructure in the center. It forced it to operate as two separate spring of the leaf, one for each party. As two separate spring of a leaf it as a torsion bar, there was simply an alternative to spiral springs. Considering a suspension such as a spiral spring, about the third spring in essence forget - two visible coils as believe, are a jumping part of a suspension. Not so - theres an anti-tubular framework also.
Yet technically the spring, it makes an act as a cross-section bar of torsion, the connencting both parties of a suspension. Thus, a way, which GM tranverse started to use spring of a leaf, is actually very clever; it allows one spring act as both springandan traditional an anti-roll. Yes - if one wheel moves, the spring causes not geometrical shifts as, we see with a live axis, are applied to other wheel - however, in the car with an anti-tubular framework which same thing, see the section onanti tubular frameworks occurs. The problem consisted that it worked well in the spring, but it is not so good as an anti-tubular framework, thus, in GM of the end should add anti-tubular frameworks also.
